On December 15, 2024, ADIMAN e.V. organized a webinar to introduce the new Adaptation Program for Indonesian doctors (WNI) with foreign degrees. The event aimed to provide comprehensive information about the new procedures and regulations of the program. This initiative was carried out in close collaboration with the Indonesian Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) and the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu).
Support from Key Health and Diplomatic Figures
The webinar was led by Indonesian Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Arif Havas Oegroseno, and Acting Director General of Health Workforce, Yuli Farianti. Indonesian general practitioners and specialists from various countries, including Germany, China, Belgium, Austria, and Russia, participated in the event. Representatives from Indonesian Embassies (KBRI) in these countries also supported the webinar.
ADIMAN Chairperson Prasti Pomarius highlighted that this initiative is part of ADIMAN's commitment to facilitating the return and integration of Indonesian doctors into the national healthcare system:
"We welcome the 1-year Adaptation Program and appreciate the support from Kemenkes and Kemenlu. Through this webinar, we hope that Indonesian doctors abroad gain a clear understanding of the procedures and requirements they need to fulfill to practice as doctors in Indonesia."
Key Updates in the Adaptation Program
Yuli Farianti, Acting Director General of Health Workforce, presented the main updates to the program’s regulations, including:
- Digital Registration: Through the online platform https://lln.kemkes.go.id.
- Shortened Duration: The program now lasts for a maximum of 12 months, significantly shorter than before.
- Adaptation Facilities: The program is now conducted in healthcare facilities (Fasyankes) rather than educational institutions.
- Standardized Incentives: Provided by the Ministry of Health.
- Competency Assessment: Based on portfolios for doctors with at least 2 years of professional experience or specialized expertise.
